Rag Quilt Completed!

I finished G.I. Joe's manly ragquilt this afternoon! It's currently in the washer to do the "ragging" part. It is really big and he loves it!
The front is alternating red with navy blue with an Indian/Wolves Print around the perimeter:
The back is alternately owls and then a solid green.

My next project: some crochet animals!
I happened upon this instruction guide when I was picking out the flannel for the manly ragquilt... How exciting! I'm not sure if I'll be successful at them, but I'll never know 'til I try!

P.S. I tried the 'eggs-in-a-hole' out of Pioneer Woman's cookbook on Saturday morning and everyone LOVED it! I liked how the eggs were contained in the hole and everything was quite neat and tidy :0)

A New Treasure!!!

I just got a new cookbook: The Pioneer Woman Cooks.

I got one for each of my neighbors, Jodi and April. I'm hoping that the 3 of us can get together once a month and try out these fantastic recipes and then our families can come eat all the goodness we made! What a great way to get to know my neighbors!!!

Welcome to the world of blogging...

I don't know if anyone will read this or not, but I am going to give this a try. I'm so inspired by all the blogs that I visit daily and I want to try it out!

A little about me: I have a bachelors of science degree in nursing. However, I am a stay-at-home wife and momma. My hubby wears camo and has been active duty for 10 years. We've been married 7 of those years. Together, we have 3 wonderful kids.

I love to cook! I HaTe to clean! Crochet is the one thing I feel I am pretty good at... the rest I really WANT to be good at but haven't been able to get good at 'em yet!

I am on a quest to conquer as many crafting styles as I can! I can sew a few things, but I want to do MORE!!
In 2010, I want to
  • Learn to Knit
and
  • Learn how to hand embroider!
The craft project I'm working on right now is a flannel raq quilt for my husband. That's right. I made one for my 9 month old and now G.I. Joe wants one! :0) I'll post some pics of it when I finish it ... shouldn't take too long if I can get him to watch the kiddies for a day ... or two... haha!
